I've had the privilege of consulting to organizations for over 25 years. By blending practical sense with management skills, I've affected change in hundreds of companies during that time.

When I'm able to attract or move people into different behaviours, I change the course of an entire company. People are everything, a phrase which doesn't mean much until you actually encounter great and different people. Companies accelerate overnight given the right team.

A full decade was spent on the speaker's circuit addressing corporations across Canada. The next decade we built Metrik Management into a capable consulting firm which it is today.

Metrik's history has resulted in several key strengths. Managing hiring projects such as outsourced recruiting to fill numerous positions, or conducting a retained search to find the best person for a particular role. Providing human resources, working with small and family businesses is the other half of our business. Just doing the day to day human resources work to keep small business going.

Our business model has always been fee based, which removes bias and puts us in the same neutral role as our clients. The focus becomes doing the job right, not collecting the fee, there is no "sell." Being fee based, or hourly, also brings with it the larger responsibility of productivity and effectiveness, not always solved by hiring. The result of both is organizational efficiency, higher quality hiring decisions and reduced costs.

The privilege of looking beyond hiring has lead me down different paths in client companies. I've built key management groups inside client companies, written policies and business plans, found investment operating partners, and sometimes negotiated the sale of a company. Your conversation may start with a need to hire, but the consulting problem solving approach can take us into very different solutions.

Begin with the business problem. We'll give you our analyses about how best to solve it. Your pain points will fall somewhere within: financial, productivity, quality, employees, customers, personal stress, and stalled growth. I will arrange, coach or hire people to change your company.

Almost ten years ago I joined the family firm in the HR department. Prior to that I got my HR grounding at SNC Lavalin, an international engineering firm which deals with every HR challenge imaginable.

As a second generation human resources recruiter, my love for this business grew from listening to stories around the kitchen table, and realizing that people are everything. People are what make any business great.

Finding, selecting, interviewing candidates and matching them with our clients is where my strengths lie. I know each client personally, their managers, their needs and business plans. I've worked for hundreds of clients and done thousands of candidate interview. I know how to search for character, work ethic, integrity, and skills so that each new hire has the best chance of succeeding with our clients.

Sectors I've worked in include: Construction & contracting, manufacturing, engineering, accounting, administration, sales, health, RNs, and DOCs, PMs, CMs, GMs, sales, sales managers, the list goes on. All levels, all sectors, because domain skills are easy, sorting for character is what really matters. Character knows no industry boundaries.

In 2009 I become a partner at Metrik. In 2012 I am the company that my father started 30 years ago. The goal hasn't changed, - to provide straight ahead help with staffing and recruiting, for businesses and organizations. To do business with like minded companies who have basic values and want simple, honest help at a simple, honest price. Period.

I will do a good job. I and my team will go to work for you. I will never take commissions. I will bill you hourly for work done and always speak the truth. If it's not right, I will set it right.

Music.  Tune In With Us.

When guests walk into our building and find their way to our office, they tend to comment on the beauty of the historic building, and then up to our floor, how nice our office is. The second thing that's always complimented (without fail), is the music.

Morning, evening, dusk – music endlessly drifting room beyond room .  Hundreds of albums, countless CD covers, MP3's downloaded – too many to count.  Samba CD's from street vendors in Puerto Vallarta or that 100 mile trek up the Baja to Todos Santos Mexico.  That downbeat mix that was playing on the Lufthansa flight as we landed in Frankfurt, that car ride through Tuscany, that base player at Pike Place Market.
