Careers

MECHANICAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / ENGINEERING MANAGER

Wanted. An Engineer who wants to attend his child's school play.

This is about job satisfaction, not engineering. Engineers are four times less likely to be satisfied with their jobs than the average person. There's something wrong with aspiring to the greatest profession in the history of man, and having to ask yourself about job satisfaction.

If you're not attending school plays, you're working for the wrong company. Job satisfaction is entirely about how a company is managed. When your child grows up, do you want them to work for your current employer?
  • You don't golf anymore. Is it worth it? Is this how you intended your life to play out?
  • When you're late for dinner with your family, - does your office say thank you?
  • When you design a machine, a part, or write a paper, - is your name on it? Do you get the credit?
  • Do you solve problems and celebrate, or are you on a problem solving treadmill? Work all you want, we'll make more, "next."
  • Are you working at your true level? Are you still challenged?
You might just be ready to attend your kid's school play.

If you're at a point in your worklife where things like this have become important, you might be ready for our company. In the marketplace we win because of this human tsunami of emotional engagement from our engineers, factory team, management, - everybody. How we do it? We leave them alone, they make their own decisions. Autonomy and involvement builds job satisfaction. People in our company attend their kid's school play. Are you ready for it?

What we do.

Customers come to us with a problem. You put on your creative hat, it's now your mission. Your ideas, your team's ideas, eventually it's ready for manufacturing. Can you get dozens of other people to execute your baby? Each project is a one-off, unique, large, heavy, costly, complex, attachment for equipment and machines in the resource sector around the world. Mines, drilling sites, equipment dealers. Category; Equipment, industrial, processing, manufacturing. We have career opportunties, our revenues are about $50m.

We need two positions filled. Mechanical or manufacturing engineer, and also an engineering manager, (small teams). Locations are Vancouver and Edmonton.

The money.

Our steep growth curve gives us some flexibility. We will pay for the right talent. The approximate range for these two positions is from $80k to $130k plus bonus, and benefits. Target earnings depend on your skills but can go close to $200k. We'll pay for your skills, your character and guarantee the best worklife ever.

Included, - time off to attend your children's school plays.

This is the door to your life. Send me something.

Send your resume to careers@managing.ca

Thank you.

p.s. Who has the highest job satisfaction? Ans: Hairdressers. (Not your other option.)
